JUST NOW: ATIWA EAST NPP CONSTITUENCY EXECUTIVES THREATENED TO BESIEGED PARTY’S HEADQUARTERS IF FRESH POLLING STATION ELECTIONS ARE NOT CONDUCTED*



Atiwa East New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency executives has threatened to besieged the party’s headquarters in Accra if fresh polling station elections are not conducted.

The Atiwa East NPP Constituency Executives are also calling on the National Executive Committee of the Party to open fresh nominations for the polling station elections to pave way for the election of polling station executives, electoral area coordinators and constituency executives.

The executives besieged the party’s constituency office today in a press conference and threatened to proceed to the party’s Headquarters in Accra over concerns about breaches recorded in the process toward the conduct of polling station executive elections in the area.

The aggrieved members wielded placards with inscriptions such as “2022 NPP polling station elections hasn’t been held in Atiwa East,” “NPP National leadership save Atiwa East to break the 8” and “No leadership in Atiwa East.”

According to them, polling station elections were not conducted in the constituency and that defies the party’s constitution.

They vowed to resist plans to hold electoral area coordinators elections, since they believe the due processes for polling station elections must be held to elect new polling station executives.

The Delegates threatened to picket at the party’s national headquarters in Accra to petition their national leaders over issues of their polling station executive elections.

Eric Osei Owusu also contested on similar grounds with no party affliction to branch or bearing a party card. The 29 Upper Manya Krobo constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have made GH 6000.00 cheque donation to support Hon. Bismark Tetteh Nyarko picking and filling for his nomination forms. The executives at a short ceremony in Upper Manya, Asesewa constituency office expressed strong interest  in him want him to continue to lead the party in the 2024 parliamentary and the  presidential elections.
