Group of Grassroot Communicators for NDC and NPP, Assembly members, Chiefs hailed Afram Plains south DCE (George Yaw Ofori), Appeal to the President to Maintain him.
The DCE of Afram Plains south George Yaw Ofori popularly called the Messiah -Adwuma Wura has gain alot of support from the people in the Afram Plains south District yearning for him to continue his good works as the District Chief Executive.
The above mentioned group of people in the Afram Plains south District of the Eastern Region have hailed their District Chief Executive (DCE), George Yaw Ofori for undertaking marvellous developmental projects in the area.
According to them, the DCE has proven beyond doubt since he assumed office and has therefore called on the President to still maintain him to continue the good work he has done in the District.
The group led by Desmond Anyan speaking with the media has pleaded with President Akufo-Addo to maintain Hon. George Yaw Ofori in his second term of office.
He said the DCE has always listened to the needs of the people in the area having addressed to the various drainage problems, bad feeder roads problems, provision of solar powered network, provision of mechanised pipe borne water system, building of classrooms, provision of desk for students to end no bed syndrome cancar in the District, very accessible, maintained good human relationship and no discriminations in his line of work there.
The chiefs and group observed Afram Plains south is noted for poor road network but are of the view that the situation has changed and more room for improvement under the indefatigable DCE.
On education, he indicated there has been an improvement in the infrastructure of schools.
Anyan Desmond affirmed they are impressed with the marvellous performance of the DCE, hence his endorsement.
“ i can say almost all chiefs in this area want the President to stick to our DCE because he has done a lot for us. He is a respectful guy and also humble. He listens to the needs of the people and solves them. Looking at what he has done, we all want him to stay in the President second term of office” he said.
“We’ve not taken anything from the DCE just to praise him but the truth is that his hard work is making us beg the government to retain him as our DCE.
We believe that with what he has done within these few years he will do more when he is given the opportunity again”.
We could recall that just recently a group of media personnel declare or appeal to the President to maintain some nine MMDCEs in which George Yaw Ofori was among as one of the working DCEs in the Eastern region; so this shows clearing the fouth arm of the government responsible for check and balances has also seen the work Hon. George Yaw Ofori is doing, despite admitting a lot of needs to be done at villages along the Afram river for the Ewe Communities we as a group commended the DCE for his outstanding performance in making sure that the area is developing.
“I think he is one the hard-working DCEs we’ve seen in Afram Plains south District ever since he came there has been a lot of developmental projects going on.
There are a lot of things he is doing for us. Those of us along the Afram river petitioned the DCE to address their social challenges and he has promised to do it.
Hon. George Yaw Ofori, the District Chief Executive of the area as learnt since taken over the office has undertaken a lot of developmental projects in the District.
Some of the Assembly members who also spoke added that "Apart from projects done under the Central government with regards to roads, in every town, the assembly has done a project".
They said "We’ve contracted feeder roads in some areas, school buildings in almost all the towns, toilet facility. The assembly has alot of projects ongoing since he came.
Some include school building, markets and others in the various communities".
A total of 687 beneficiaries with 323 males and 264 females in 45 communities have received their cash transfer in the LEAP payment cycles, as 265 PWDs identified in the District has also benefited from the District Assembly Common Fund in various means.
Per further checks undertaken by us, it has been revealed that 32 communities will soon be connected to the National grid, and also those who can hardly get connected to the national grid will have solar power farm.
He further hinted that the Constituency despite not winning the parliamentary seat from the Opposition NDC, the good work he did help the party accumulated a higher number of votes with regards to the Presidential elections.
He ended by stating through the performance of the assembly under the DCE leadership, the ruling New Patriotic Party had an improved vote as compared to the 2016 general elections.
